Terms & Conditions


The following terms and conditions apply to Love in the Limelight (also referred to as ‘we’ or ‘our’) and any hiring party (also referred to as ‘the hiring party’, ‘yourselves’  ‘your’ or ‘you’).

All bookings will require a non-refundable deposit to be made. PLEASE NOTE: All deposits for displays are non-transferable to any other items. Any items that have sustained damage will incur additional charge for repair/replacement of each and every item damaged.

Final payment of balance will be required no later than eight weeks prior to the specified booking date.

Delivery and venue dressing, where booked, will only be made upon receipt of the full amount as per the terms above. If we are not in receipt of the balance payment within the time specified, without correspondence from you, your deposit and/or booking will be forfeited and we may release the date to other prospective clients.

All items/services are hired for the duration of the day’s event, including the time of delivery prior to the event commencing.

Please ensure that access time and ability (e.g. there is ready access to upstairs rooms etc.) are available on the day as per your instructions given on your order form. We will liaise with your chosen venue to verify the delivery time/setup time (which we will then confirm to both you and the venue). If access is not available on the day at the agreed time and our delivery schedule dictates that we undertake other deliveries we may not be able to fulfil the delivery and reserve the right to not issue any refund for aspects beyond our control. If an amendment to the delivery time/setup time is requested it will be required at least three weeks prior to the original time and date agreed and will be subject to performance possibility as dictated by our other bookings on the day.

We will need ready access and parking at the venue site within 50 metres of the access point.

Please ensure that there will be adequate space and power supply points (within 5 metres maximum) for the siting of any light up letters being hired. If these items are to be placed onto a stage there will be need of stairway access on and off the stage if the stage height exceeds three feet from the floor. The venue will need to have adequate power supply points, again within 5 metres for the positioning of items rented: we will install the extension cables, strip sockets, timer switches and cable matting to ensure a safe and tidy display.

‘We’ will supply copies of PAT certification (where required) to the venue prior to delivery and will request confirmation of such provision by the venue. Our ‘Public Liability Insurance’ will be available for your selected venue when we deliver your rental pieces.

All items will be checked prior to delivery and at the venue after installation in each instance. We will not be able to replace bulbs that may fail during operation but we can supply a replacement bulb kit for a responsible person to address such eventualities (e.g. wedding planner, venue manger). We will provide a checklist to verify the checking and correct performance of your rented items prior to your event which will list all items supplied and will provide this to the venue manager as proof of delivery and as a supporting document of proof for all items due for collection.

All items will be delivered and setup at the agreed time and date and, once delivered, will become the responsibility of ‘yourselves’ and the venue representatives and may not be moved without our prior consent. Any loss or damage sustained whatsoever will result in a loss of your deposit (where paid) and may incur further charges for repairing each and every item. We will require a copy/confirmation of your wedding insurance policy, with our interests noted on the policy, in each instance.

It will be the full responsibility of the hiring party to ensure that all items will be protected from abuse by any and all guests  and it is accepted by the hiring party that under no circumstances will Love in the Limelight, it’s directors or employees, be held responsible in any way for any injury that may occur to any individual (some products, for instance, are wooden and, if abused or misused, may cause splinters which ‘we’ will accept no responsibility for) and this is understood and accepted by ‘you’ and any/all guests. This will include not swinging on items, pushing or leaning on items, touching any lamps, interfering with the cabling to the rear and any connection points and timers, falling onto the items due to over consumption of intoxicating liquids or substances of any kind or climbing/balancing on any items, pulling on swags or drapes, snagging any ‘hanging’ products (eg festoon light cabling) or any general misuse of all and any prop items supplied. All items MUST be covered by your wedding insurance in the event of damage so please check your policy carefully as you may need to request this as an additional item on your policy (we will provide you with the insurable amount – see note above).

All items are to remain indoors and/or under cover at all times unless by prior agreement with Love In The Limelight and it’s representatives.

Under no circumstances may any item be used as a support for the hanging of any form of banner(s) or as tables or platforms for crockery or glassware. Any damage sustained through misuse may incur additional charges for repairs to each and every item.

Under no circumstances shall ‘we’ be liable for failure to deliver whereby the chosen venue refuses access.

All items collected from the venue will be subjected to a check for damage/loss and operations prior to removal. Any such damage/loss will be noted, with photographic evidence taken. In every instance your deposit (where given) will be held until such time as the rectification/repairs to each/every item has been undertaken and payment for the repairs received. If your deposit does not cover the amount for repair or replacement you will be invoiced for the remaining amount and agree to settle this amount in full within fourteen days of the invoice date.

If, for any reason, you wish to cancel your order you will need to contact us by telephone AND confirm the request in writing, via email, at the specified number and address on your order contract copy immediately. Your order cancellation will only take effect upon written receipt.

Cancellation of your order may be made at any time subject to the following conditions:

A)     Any cancellation made three weeks prior to the date of hire commencement will not be eligible for any refund of the rental fees paid.

B)      Orders cancelled between eight and three weeks prior to the date of hire commencement will be liable for a rental charge of 75% of the total due. Your deposit will be used to offset the fees and you will be liable for any balance due.

C)      Orders cancelled eight weeks prior to the date of hire will result in the loss of the deposit paid.

Deliveries will be made within a ten mile radius of the Grimsby/Cleethorpes area (excluding the north bank of the Humber) and are included in your rental fee.

Deliveries outside this area will be subject to the following delivery charges -

Between eleven and twenty miles - £20.00

Between twenty one and thirty miles - £30.00

Between thirty one and forty miles - £40.00

Any areas outside these guidelines will require a bespoke delivery quote.

Return of your deposit will be completed within seven business days after the hire of any/all items has been completed and all items have been collected in good condition and having sustained no damage.

All items remain the property of Love in the Limelight.

Rental periods will be for the specified day and continue until the end of the reception (as specified on your booking information).

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions without notice, at any time.
